Fox International Productions is shutting down, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
In recent days, 20th Century Fox film chairman-CEO Stacey Snider informed staff that the division, which produced and acquired local-language films for major global territories, will be phased out as a separate entity. Instead, local and regional offices overseas will be charged with employing their local expertise to develop productions or acquire projects.
Assisting in the effort will be Tomas Jegeus, who had served as president of FIP.
FIP was launched in 2008 by former Fox executive Sanford Panitch, who left the studio in 2015 for a top job at Sony Pictures, a job reuniting him with Sony film chief and former Fox chairman-CEO Tom Rothman.
Jegeus, who replaced Panitch, will join the main studio.
