Linen trousers are seeing a resurgence this spring/summer. Eagle-eyed fashion fans may have spotted the laidback style reappearing in retailers this year.
We spotted a pair from M&S that is earning high praise from shoppers. The Linen Rich Pleated Wide Leg Trousers, are priced at £39.50.
Available in white, black and green the product description reads: " Crafted from breezy linen-rich fabric, these trousers are your new sunny-day heroes. They're cut to a regular fit, with elegant wide legs and a flattering high waist. Front pleats add a crisp feel, while a hook bar and zip fastening give the trousers a clean finish."
The trousers are part of the retailer's new summer range, and they are already beginning to fly off the shelves. There are plenty of sizes available in the white colour and in the green colour but the black trousers have limited sizes - with sizes 6,8 and 10 in the regular length sold out.
The trousers have a 4.5 customer rating. In the comments, one shopper wrote: "Love these linen wide leg white trousers, they look amazing with white trainers and my white Marks and Spencer linen top. Had loads of compliments and felt so comfortable in 25-degree heat at the weekend."
A second wrote: "Love these trousers! The material is soft and they fit perfectly. Matched them with the linen waistcoat and they look really smart."
A third commented: " These wide-leg linen rich trousers are great. I bought them in black and white to take me through spring/summer/autumn. They go great with the black jacket, dresses them up or casual."
Not all customers were happy with one saying person - who bought them in petite - said they were too wide and too long. They wrote: "Unfortunately had to return as trousers are far too wide. They look ridiculous.
"Also short length not that short (I'm 5ft 1in) I would have had to turn up if a decent width. Disappointed."
Another customer had a similar experience, writing: "Trousers very long even short length, ordered online and the condition the goods arrived in was terrible, had to iron them to get a good idea what the fit and length would be when wearing."
