LIES! Is anyone who they say they are? WOW!! My brain is trying to catch up with all that happened in this book! I will have to read it again just to make sure it is the same book I started with!
Michelle Warren sure didn't hold back when writing the second book in the Saraphina Parrish Series! From start to finish it was action-packed with so many reveals!! I couldn't believe this is only book 2. I almost thought this was the end of the series because so much was going on with the characters, truths coming out, answering so many questions Sera had... and THEN SOME! I was completely shocked! Usually I can see where things might be going, especially in a second book, predicting the established characters actions... BUT!!! This caught me completely off guard, which left me wanting MORE MORE MORE!
The complexity of time travel upped a notch this go round. Following who and what was done in the past or real time seemed to meld together, giving the reader a lot to think about. This brought a lot of "ah-ha!" moments to me.
Turner... without giving much away, he became my new favorite. Of course mysterious-dangerous-forbidden-dark-brooding-sexy-bad-boys usually wins my heart. What happens will make you want to laugh, scream and cry. I will be waiting (not very patiently) for the next book.
Thank you Michelle Warren for giving me this wonderful opportunity to read and share your beautiful work!
WOW!!!!! An exclamation mark for each star! This book totally took me by surprise! Usually I expect a second book of a series to be mediocre compared WOW!!!!! An exclamation mark for each star! This book totally took me by surprise! Usually I expect a second book of a series to be mediocre compared the the first (which is the attention-grabber) but Pandemonium just took everything to a different level! I never thought I would say this, but book #2 was better than #1... My expectations for #3 is pretty high now!
Once again, Lauren Oliver outdid herself with her writings. Her words become so heart-felt, poetic, and beautiful. Loss is an occurrence that some people have to endure, I being one of them feel like Ms. Oliver hit my thoughts and feelings so close to my heart. Usually I don't like books that bring those feelings to light, but in her darkest hours, Lena finds hope in a place that should have torn her to shreds. She gathers strength and a renewed determination to fight for herself and those she loves.
In some places I could predict what would happen, but the flow of the plot and the characters kept me guessing, taking turns left and right. My heart was pounding in different places with anticipation, wanting to jump into the action myself.
I was truly surprised by this series. I don't think these 2 books were given enough credit, reviews or advertisement. I don't know what took me so long to dive into them, but I am so glad I did!
This book was pretty clean, a few kissing scenes and sexual tension. There is violence and some disturbing situations.

I was drawn to it immediately. Gorgeous dress, the crown..... and then I read the summary! I was a sucker for the first Bachelor reality series, but then thought it was sorta lame. But this, this is a chance to be a real Princess! I was a goner. The little girl in me couldn't resist it.
This storyline was so clever! Almost a Cinderella, rags to riches story with a dystopian-type background. I say ALMOST Cinderella because America Singer (really didn't care for the name, by the way) didn't want to be a part of all this, didn't want the Prince, the attention, and all that came with it... well, at first.
Prince Maxon (sawooon!) Really was all that AND a bag of chips in my opinion. He was very direct and to the point, not playing games. He was the only one who out of all the characters seems to be truly trustworthy. America, on the other hand, seemed like the typical teenage girl...a little whiny, dramatic, and taking huge risks. I did love the way she was herself, very indifferent with the competition, and didn't kiss up to the Prince. Aspen on the other hand... never really liked him even from the beginning, seemed to be too male chauvinistic for my liking.
The only thing that was really missing from this book, was more detail on the rebel attacks. Maybe Cass is waiting for the next book to throw all that in, but I wished there had been more of a hint to each rebel group.
Bring on book number two! I am ready for more Maxon BTW..LOVED his name!
A clean and fun book, if I had a teen daughter I would let her read it. ...more
Oh my FREAKING heck! I just finished this book and can I say, This book totally ROCKED my world. I seriously have not been so sucked into a book like Oh my FREAKING heck! I just finished this book and can I say, This book totally ROCKED my world. I seriously have not been so sucked into a book like this one in a long, long time. I literally read it all in one day... I did stop to eat and go potty, but I am ready to pick it up and read it again!
Call me sexist, but when I first saw that a man wrote this book, I had my doubts. Now, let me explain. I have read some great books written by men, recent ones too, but I have not experienced one that totally RULED in action, drama, suspense, and romance... let's face it, romance is viewed a little differently for men. Scott Speer, you have succeeded in all this! I was swooning quite a few times actually, along with biting my fingernails as things got tense. There were so many twists and turns, and the ending.... UGH! So awesome, I just wanted more!
I thought this story-line was incredible, so original bringing Angels out as celebrities, their powers known to all. The characters were likable and inviting. Maddy was awesome and kick-butt. I love a girl who rejects the norm and puts people where they belong. Jackson..what a hottie! A man..er Angel, who is the best at what he does, kicks some serious booty and a heart of gold.. Perfect.
As far as I know there is supposed to be another book to this.. oh please, oh please, oh please. I will definitely look for it!

Once she decided she didn't like Steldor, that was it... nothing was going to change her mind. The only problem I had with the whole thing, was the lack of Narian's personality. Most of the time Alora spent with him he was vague, quiet, and not enough focus was on him long enough to establish a true bond... In my opinion. Even though Steldor really was an egotistical, selfish brute, I liked him. The way he and Alora bantered back and forth was fantastic! They were perfect for each other! Narian?... hmmmm, not so sure.
All the secondary characters had such detailed pasts. Every one of them had some kind of influence in the direction of the tale. The politics, war strategies, traditions, dress styles, social and economical details were not lacking. Brought all together it was formed into a wonderful tale which could almost be believable.
I was awed that someone so young could write something with this kind of vocabulary and style. Even though I read book #2 first, I fell right back into the characters. Hats off to Cayla Kluver, her beautiful writing and creating a world that any teen would love to live in.... Yes, even adults! I know I would! ...more

I don't know how Ms. ArmAnd the action-packed-swoon-worthy-frustratingly-sexy-suspense-thrilling-turn-taking fun just keeps on going in the 2nd book!
I don't know how Ms. Armentrout does it, but she did not miss a beat! Usually "middle" or 2nd books seem to drag or just give a "lull" to the rhythm and beat of a storyline. Sooooo not the case! I was sitting on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put this down! This is FAR better than the first book!! Her writing just brings her world to life on page, it drew me in and I fell in love with the characters, both main and secondary.
Getting to know Daemon a little differently this time was fun, but I still liked the full-blown-sexually-tensed arguments he and Katy got into. I enjoyed watching their relationship change, their personalities grow and the secrets unfold. Their crazy relationship got so frustrating at times, but I couldn't help but cheer for it to work out.
A new boy comes in.. Blake. Lets just say I had suspicions about him from day one, but most of all, he was just blah. How could he even compare to Daemon?? No contest! There were many times where I wanted to grab Katy and shake her and love her at the same time. I think Katy may be my new favorite heroine of all time. I love her attitude and strength, her stubbornness causes her grief and problems, but it is what makes her so great!
Now that Katy and Daemon are connected, things change in their relationship. Katy can't forget what a jerk Daemon has been in the past and can't see that their attraction and feelings for each other could be more than their strange alien bond. She fights against those feelings, not wanting what happened to Daemons brother, happen to Daemon. Things heat up, but Daemon decides to show her a new side. YES, I really said Daemon, A sweet and caring side... shocker!! How did he put it? "I'm turning into a pansy"? OH, I beg to differ Mr. Black! I would NEVER call you that!
The DOD comes snooping around, and tension falls on all of Katy, Daemon, Dee, and the rest of them. Knowing who to trust becomes more difficult than ever for Kat. while trying to figure out what happened to her after Daemon healed her, she changes in many ways.
As much as I loved this, I have to warn my readers that this isn't a book I would let anyone under 17 read. There are sexual situations, a little language and violence. ...more

In doing so, things heat up with Jem while trying to forget her feelings for Will. Will, on the other hand, finds the truth about the curse that has tortured him for years.
Tessa, does not come across as the snotty teenager as some other heroines do, but is sincerely torn and wanting to do the right thing. She is determined to find out who she is and have the same courage as her friends. She is surprised to find love, especially after being treated as horribly as Will treated her.
My expectations as a second book were far exceeded. Cassandra Clare brought in so much emotion from the characters, especially Jem's. Will's bad boy act is torn down to see the real tormented boy. Add in some surprising traitors, a few deaths and it becomes one of my favorite books!
I could not put this book down! I was up until 3 am trying to finish it, but my sleep deprived body won out. The next morning I picked it up and finished it before I got out of bed! LOVED IT!
The end of the book leaves so many surprises which leaves me wanting MORE MORE MORE! ...more

She also starts having a recurrent dream where she discovers she will lose someone she loves within months. Clara is torn between her deep new feelings toward Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker. She continues being drawn into the battle between Black Wings and White wings while learning more and more about herself, her family and what part she plays in all this.
I knew that Christian had to make a big comeback in this book because I didn't feel like I got to know him at all. As much as he was made to be some kind of mysterious, gorgeous, hunk, and the fact he was Clara's purpose, I knew I was in for a lot of Christian. I was not disappointed at all, my feelings for Christian grew to love him as much as I do Tucker. Christian is determined, but patient with Clara, being her friend and helping her with "Angel" things that Tucker couldn't know or understand. Even when Clara was pushing him away, Christian didn't give up on her.
Oh Tucker! How could you not love Tucker and Clara's relationship? So wonderful and warm, despite all the huge and larger than life things Clara can do, they still are the average teenage couple; telling jokes, laughing, playing, kissing, going to dances, breaking rules, getting caught, and grounded. Clara fights to hang on to what they have.
Clara is stubborn, rebelling against her purpose which includes Christian. She fights to change her visions because she wants to be in charge of her life, not what is expected of her. As life changes, her graduation coming up, blackwings wanting her, the death of someone coming up, Clara has to grow up quickly and make some serious decisions.
Ms. Hand created one of the best young adult romances that I have read. My heart was breaking at the end of this book, but for some reason I felt at peace with it. I look forward to the next book of this series.

After Maya and her friends end up in a helicopter running from the fire and strange people posing as help and rescue, they realize they are not going where they are supposed to. A Struggle in the cockpit ends up in a crash where the kids end up on their own, running, trying to figure out who they can trust. The group, who have known each other almost all their lives, realize they all are not who they thought they were... and some may have dark secrets.
It's difficult not to share more.... and there is a lot I want to say about this, but it will give away too much! There is one thing I do have to say to Maya... Hello??? Are you stupid?? Daniel!!!
There are so many twists and turns, action and adventure, it's more than enough to keep you from sleeping until you have read the entire thing.
I really enjoy Kelley Armstrong's writing, not just in this series but others as well. It's all pretty clean, with some romance and lots of action. ...more
