Rep. Pete Stauber announces re-election campaign
DULUTH, MN. (Northern News Now) - Representative Pete Stauber announced Monday he will seek re-election to Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District.
Stauber, a republican, made the announcement in a one-minute video shared on social media.
“Minnesotans are known for our grit and resolve and it’s in our nature to face challenges head-on, working hard until the job is done,” Stauber said in an X post. “I am proud to be running for re-election to Congress so I can stand with you and fight for our way of life!”
Stauber originally won Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District seat in 2018 and has been re-elected in each election year since then.

Former state house representative Jen Schultz, a democrat, recently announced her intention to challenge Stauber for a second time.
Stauber was re-elected in 2022 with 57% of the vote, to Schultz’s 43%.
So far, no other candidates have announced their plans to run.
