In another sign that TV shows are going back into production following shutdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic, “Shrill” is heading back to Portland to film Season 3. The Portland-set Hulu series stars Aidy Bryant, of “Saturday Night Live,” as a writer who’s dealing with finding her voice, coping with relationships and going about her life in the Rose City.

“Shrill,” inspired by Seattle-based writer Lindy West’s memoir, will also need extras for the new season, which begins filming in October. The casting company, Adam & the Backgrounds, is, according to a press release, looking for people “of all shapes, sizes, orientations, ethnicities and abilities to create a truthful and realistic Portland setting for a woman who wants to change her life, not her body.”

The "Shrill’ Season 3 production needs paid extras, stand-ins and photo doubles. Extras and stand-ins will be paid $13.25 per hour, according to the casting company. People who are 18 and older should click this link for details: http://tinyurl.com/shrillseason3

For those under 18, parents should submit their child by using this link: http://tinyurl.com/shrill3kids

According to the casting company, “All extras will be submitted to regular COVID-19 testing depending on frequency of work. All extras will be required to follow safety protocols including social distancing practices and mandatory mask wearing. The show will cover all testing expenses once casting is confirmed.”

“Saturday Night Live” is scheduled to return for Season 46 on Oct. 3, with host Chris Rock and musical guest Megan Thee Stallion. The entire cast has been announced as returning, so it sounds like Bryant may have some juggling to do to accommodate “Shrill" filming and “Saturday Night Live.”
