RAISING £1 million for any charity may seem like a barely attainable goal, but breast cancer charity Too Many Women has engineered a plan to make the seemingly unachievable more reachable. The initiative - devised by business partners Harry Becher and Catriona Blampied after their mothers were both diagnosed with breast cancer within months of one another - asks women to become "ambassadors" of the charity: agreeing to raise just £500 and to enlist nine friends to do the same.
Finding just 201 ambassadors would mean the charity reaching its goal this year, since 201 people each raising £500 and getting nine friends to do the same would total £1,005,000.00.
Vogue cover girls Gwyneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller and Scarlett Johansson have already become ambassadors and have pledged their support to raise £500. The charity has networks now confirmed in Delhi, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, Buenos Aires and Toronto, using the accessiblity of the online format to maximise support and funds.
