Descendant of Jacob Christopher Zimmerman and Sibella VanFossen Zimmerman and through them of (1) Mattiaus & Anna Zimmerman, (2) Balthasar & Mergan, (3) Philip Heinrich Schaal, (4) Jacob & Merriken Sellens. His Pennsylvania Dutch (i.e. German) roots, "Zimmerman", were explored on an episode of Who Do You Think You Are (US) (Season 6, Episode 2), aired on TLC in 2015.
