Insidious Red Door trailer

It ends where it all began. Sony Pictures is heading back into The Further with Insidious: The Red Door this summer, and the official trailer was debuted by IGN today.

Insidious: The Red Door will release in theaters everywhere on July 7, 2023. Watch the trailer below to preview the final chapter of the Lambert family’s terrifying saga.

The horror franchise’s original cast is back in Insidious: The Red Door, directed by and starring Patrick Wilson. Family secrets will be revealed as the Lamberts head back into The Further one more time, encountering demons from the past as well as brand new terrors.

In the film, “To put their demons to rest once and for all, Josh (Patrick Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before.”

What lies behind the Red Door? We’ll find out this summer.

The original cast from Insidious is back with Patrick Wilson (also making his directorial debut), Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne, Andrew Astor and Lin Shaye.

Also starring Sinclair Daniel and Hiam Abbass, the film is produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Leigh Whannell. The screenplay is written by Scott Teems from a story by Leigh Whannell, based on characters created by Leigh Whannell.

“I’m honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next Insidious installment, which will provide an amazing chance to unpack everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices,” Wilson said in a statement back in 2020. “Directing the movie is both professionally and personally a full circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be entrusted in continuing to tell this frightening and haunting story. Into the further we go…”

The first two Insidious movies were written by Leigh Whannell and directed by James Wan, centered on the Lambert family and their terrifying struggles deep within The Further. The most recent film in the franchise, Insidious: The Last Key, was released back in 2018.

Marvel’s upcoming Blade reboot has been going through all kinds of behind the scenes changes and delays, and The Wrap reports on another massive shakeup for the project tonight.

According to the site, director Yann Demange (“Lovecraft Country”) has departed Marvel’s new Blade movie, an “entirely amicable” split they say happened “a while ago.”

As you may recall, director Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) had previously exited the project back in September 2022, with Yann Demange stepping in to take over shortly after.

At this time, The Wrap notes that Eric Pearson (Fantastic Four) is working on the script, with Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto and Michael Green writing previous drafts.

Last we heard, Blade will daywalk into movie theaters on November 7, 2025, but it’s entirely possible that date could change in the coming months. Stay tuned for more.

Mahershala Ali is starring in Blade alongside Mia Goth (X, Pearl).

The vampire-slaying character was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan, introduced in July 1973’s The Tomb of Dracula #10. Wesley Snipes played Blade across three films from 1998 through 2004, and he was played by Sticky Fingaz in a short-lived TV series.
