The 1999 Katsina State gubernatorial election occurred on 9 January 1999. PDP candidate Umaru Musa Yar'Adua won the election, defeating Junaidu Mamuda Yantumaki, the APP candidate.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Results[edit]

Umaru Musa Yar'Adua from the PDP won the election.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16] APP and AD candidates contested in the election.[17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26]

The total number of registered voters in the state was 2,236,067, total votes cast was 939,282, valid votes was 881,783 and rejected votes was 57,499.[27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34]
