2004.5.13 - Webby Win!

The Webby winners were announced yesterday, and your very own Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates took top honors in the gaming category! Take a look at the judges and wonder with the rest of us whether David Bowie has a noseless, piratical alter ego.

2004.4.30 - Blockades, Bazaars, and a Pirate's Awards for Ye

Ahoy mates! A month thick with Azure testing has passed and at last we've issued our legendary Blockades and Bazaars release! War comes to the Midnight shores this weekend as most of the islands of the Diamond and Emerald archipelago are opened to Blockades!

In addition we shipped with this release Bazaars, which allow any mate with the shopkeeping itch to open a stall and compete on the market. Now we've gotten a whole heap of what we affectionately call 'high level' gameplay out, we hope to get back to making more Puzzly stuff for a bit.

In other news, Puzzle Pirates has been getting some nice recognition. Last month at the GDC we took home the Independent Games Festival awards for Technical Excellence and Audience Choice. This month we're nominated for the Webby Award for Games. Please head over and vote for us for the People's Choice award!

Hot on the heels of these accolades comes our announcement that Puzzle Pirates has topped five thousand subscribers, and is soon to come to China at www.puzzlepirates.com.cn and Germany at www.puzzle-piraten.de! We're shivering our timbers to be bringing a Pirate's life to both these gaming-fanatic countries.
