Mountain View-Whisman School District has six elementary (K-5) schools and two middle (6-8) schools. We invite you to visit each of our schools.

Benjamin Bubb School, 525 Hans Avenue, (650) 526-3480 Bubb School serves the central area of Mountain View and is located near the southeast boundary of the city. Bubb draws its students from a diverse socioeconomic population in apartments, multiple family units and private homes. The community has a rich cultural mix with more than 20 languages represented. Twenty percent of the students have English as a second language.

Mariano Castro School, 505 Escuela Avenue, (650) 526-3590 Mariano Castro Elementary School resides on a beautiful campus with recently remodeled buildings in the heart of Mountain View. Some of Castro’s special features include a very strong sense of community, highly involved parents, a state of the art computer laboratory, a unique educational partnership with Hidden Villa, and much more. Castro’s diverse student body represents a rich and varied cultural population with more than fifteen languages spoken on our campus. Castro is home to one of Mountain View Whisman School District’s Parent Choice magnet programs: Dual Immersion. Families from across Mountain View and from neighboring cities enroll in this unique enrichment program in which students learn to read, write and speak fluently in both English and Spanish. Coming in the 2006-07 School year, Castro will also be home to another Mountain View Whisman School District Parent Choice magnet program: PACT, a parent participation, alternative public school for grades K-5.

Crittenden Middle School, 1701 Rock Street, (650) 903-6945 Crittenden Middle School is located thirty-four miles south of San Francisco in the northeast portion of Mountain View and serves students in grades 6-8 at Crittenden Middle School. Approximately twenty-five percent of our students live in the housing at Moffett Field and their parents are connected with one of several branches of the armed forces represented on the base. The staff of Crittenden Middle School believes that the transition of middle grade students through adolescence is the most critical time in students' lives. We are committed to provide well-trained, caring staff, quality programs, and innovative practices that build strong connections with our students and give them the skills and support necessary for success in high school.

Graham Middle School, 1175 Castro Street, (650) 526-3570 Graham School serves students in grades 6-8. All students pursue a comprehensive, academically-oriented core curriculum. All students study literature, writing, history, geography, mathematics, science, health and physical education. Exploratory classes are offered in 6th and 7th grade and electives in 8th grade. Over 60% of the students participate in instrumental of vocal music. Over 29 languages are represented at Graham School. Twenty-three percent of the students have English as a second language.

Frank L. Huff School, 253 Martens Avenue, (650) 526-3490 Huff School serves the central area of Mountain View and is located near the southeast boundary of the city. Huff draws the majority of its students from the residential area surrounding the schools, which is made up primarily of single family dwellings and some apartment complexes. Huff School was reopened in 1998 to help accommodate the Class Size Reduction program.

Edith Landels School, 115 West Dana Street, (650) 526-3520 Landels School is located near the downtown area of Mountain View. Landels students are from a diverse socioeconomic and ethnic population in the downtown area and from the military housing at the nearby Onizuka Air Force Base. Nineteen languages are represented at Landels. Thirty-one percent of the students have English as a second language.
Monta Loma School, 460 Thompson Avenue, (650) 903-6915 Monta Loma School is located in the northwestern area of Mountain View. Monta Loma serves a highly diverse school population of approximately 475 kindergarten through fifth grade students. Monta Loma is home to the CEL (Community-Enhanced Learning) program which requires parents to volunteer 8-10 hours per month in the classroom and for the school.

Theuerkauf School, 1625 San Luis Avenue, (650) 903-6925 Theuerkauf School serves the northern area of Mountain View. Theuerkauf School draws its students from single family homes and rental apartments. The school is nestled among parks, shopping centers and churches. The student body represents a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds.

• Solar Schools - The mission of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is to expand environmental and energy literacy. This effort involves educational programming, energy projects, and related public outreach activities throughout the United States and abroad. All of our programming, projects, and activities include participation from environmental groups, businesses and industries, and government agencies. We bring together people with diverse views and interests and help them to work toward a common goal.
