iTunes Review

With M!ssundaztood's title track and "Get This Party Started," P!nk announces herself as post-hip-hop-pop's bratty Joan Jett. Soon, though, the album's turned into a female In Utero, as this excellent singer confesses being "a bad, bad girl" ("Dear Diary") and "a hazard to myself" ("Don't Let Me Get Me"), rakes over the coals of a broken family life ("Family Portrait"'s anguished cry of "I don't want to split the holidays") and dysfunctional love affairs ("Just Like a Pill"). This sophomore disc, with its raised artistic stakes and assumption that the mass audience was ready for the raw nerves beneath the polish, indeed brought P!nk greater recognition than the earlier, less convincing Can't Take Me Home. Obviously, a wide swath of a generation identified with both her pain and the bravado she used to push past it.

M!ssudaztood - P!nk

M!ssudaztood is truly one of the best albums of 2001's time. I mean this album has everything, it really was the perfect album for any artist. It featured so many hits, the whole album was great, every song had at least one unique thing about it, the lyrics were pretty frikkon good, and you could really tell she put a lot more effort into this album than her last one, Can't Take Me Home. Everything changed, her voice, lyrics, and her whole thought on her type of music. Her last album had more of an R&B/hip-hop sort of vibe, but M!ssudaztood is more of a Rockish/Poppish vibe. This sound is definitly much better and fits her amazing voice that i actually thing was lost and bottled up on her last album. The best songs on this album were obviously Get the Party Started, Just Like A Pill, and Don't Let Me Get Me. Get the party started is a classic. Everyone has heard it and it's just amazing!!! I love the sound, lyrics are great to sing to, dance around, and to go clubbing!! Just like a pill which is my all-time favorite song from this album is just heart-stopping!! i love to just sit in the car and while it's palying get the wind in my face, it is just so much fun to listen to!! The lyrics are damn good, once again great for clubbing, the videos sick, and the chorus is unbelievable!! Don't let me get me is also very good. It features great lyircs and vocals, which are not only amazing, but teaches a lesson which is to be yourself and only yourself!! The other amazing songs you should definitly look out for are of course Family Portrait, which teaches another lesson which is to care about everyone in your family, and love them enough to do anything for them, Misery, Lonely Girl, M!ssunaztood, respect, and 18 Wheeler. Overall this is her 3rd best album next to I'm Not Dead, and Funhouse!!! It is breathtaking, heartstopping, and will blow you away all the same time!! This album is a must-buy, and any P!nk fan has to have it!! Rock on P!nk!!! :]

Great first.

Few know that this is the album that made P!nk who she is today. Great album, buy it.

Awesome

So I've never actually thought Pink had any read talent. I've never liked Get the Party Startedand that's like the only Pink song I knew back then. Now I'm 13 and the release of Pink's 5th album, Funhouse has just happened. I got more into Pink with her last album, I'm Not Dead. I liked "U + Ur Hand" and "Who Knew," so I checked out more of her stuff. And I found this. I didn't like her third or first CD as much as this one, her second. Her first one isn't the same type of music and her second one just isn't as good, but I still recommend it. I bought "Don't Let Me Get Me" after hearing it on the radio and checked out "Just Like a Pill" (which is my next target. What's so weird about me? I like contemporary music and am 13 in 2008, but I go and buy old songs from popular artists that no one listens to anymore. I like the earlier CD's from artists because they show their singing/songwriting ability before they begin to "develop." For example, Pink developed as an artist and her sound is a bit different that her earlier works. At a younger age, Pink has more to write about with teenage problems and her broken family, which is my type of music. It's like an autobiography in a CD. Not a bunch of love songs wrapped up in one that all sound the same. Like Pink? Buy this CD.

Biography

Born: September 8, 1979 in Doylestown, PA

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Although initially viewed as another face in the late-'90s crowd of teen pop acts, Pink (professionally known as P!nk!) quickly transcended and outgrew that label with her combination of pop songcraft and powerhouse, rock-influenced vocals. Born Alecia Moore on September 8, 1979, in Doylestown, PA, Pink received her nickname as a child, years before she dyed her hair accordingly. She grew up in a musical family and was a regular on the Philadelphia club scene by the age of 13, first as a dancer and...
