   So I submitted to this. I hope you all keep in mind. I self produced the beats note by note, no sampling… Rap, sing, play all the instruments, and recorded my own material. Normally I don’t like contest online, but I guess I got a nice feeling about this one.

   Hello and thanks for such a oppurtunity given among the growing artist of today, I am a new artist and owner of my label in would like to say that this album i produced is for club and female attraction in the hip-hop/rap genre and has songs that are very marketable for seasons and mainstream events.    Greetings and thanx to all of you associated with the IMA for the opportunity and consideration. I am an owner of an independent record store that created a record label last year, for the sole purpose of proving to a group of very talented local professional recording artists, that vinyl was once again a very viable format and should be considered as a format for the conveyance of music. To that end, a compilation of those local artists was put together in “record” time and released on vinyl, with an accompanying compact disc, and distributed through my record store and, to a certain extent, on-line. 500 copies were manufactured and all but five copies have been sold … not bad for a small local project that started out as sort of challenge or dare! … for gosh sakes, we don’t sell 500 copies of anything anymore … not even the latest by Springsteen or Waits or Justin Bieber … … I hope you like the record as much as we had fun making it. Although it is being considered in the Compilation category, it was truly more of a Collaboration … thanx.

   My brother, Colen Lococo, is an amazing song writer. The guy has written over 1500 songs….songs I listen to myself. He’s the founding member of The Revolving Birds. Their debut album, released in 2011, is one of the best I’ve heard in years. Thanks judges for taking note of this amazing artist. He’s a great guy and I’m convinced the universe put these songs in him because it wants them to be heard.

   I just read the recent article about Keith Richards’ inclusion among the judges. That is amazing, congrats to everyone involved in making that happen.

   I also read that he will be judging the “blues” and “world beat” categories.

   Where can I find out which categories EACH JUDGE is participating in?

   Joe,

   This is the page for the 11th Annual IMA Judges. The 11th Annual program closed submissions and has already announced the nominees. The judges are in the process of selecting the winners. The 12th Annual IMA Judging Panel lineup has not been confirmed yet. We hope Keith will remain on board, but this all depends on his and The Rolling Stones’ schedule for the year. Please check back to this Judge page for updates soon.

   No, I knew this was the 11th annual page. I was just curious who was judging the other categories..right now. It says that Keith Richards is one of the judges for the “Blues” and “World Beat” categories.

   I was curious specifically who is judging some of the other categories like Pop, Hip Hop and Concept Album.

    I’m sorry for misunderstanding your question. Keith independently announced the categories that he asked to review in the 11th annual program. The arrangement made with our judging panelists is to not disclose areas of participation so that results do not reflect specific, individual preferences.
