Following in the footsteps of fellow style icons Lady Gaga and Miss Piggy, Daphne Guinness is to release a collaboration with makeup innovator MAC Cosmetics. The collection, in stores Dec 26, consists of 21 products, including blushes, lipsticks, and nail varnishes, each in a "cool tone", like a steely gray and an icy pink. Not one to do things by halves, the eccentric Guinness was involved in almost every step of the creation process, from deciding on colors (which were drawn from a mixed bag of influences, from Michaelangelo to outer space), to mixing together powders and watercolours in her Beverly Hills hotel. In fact, the couture collector was so absorbed in it all that she was disappointed to miss out on the final step — "I wanted to be right there in the factory. I would love that. The process is just everything to me" the heiress explains. Daphne Guinness's make-up factory outfit? Now there's something we'd love to see!
