That’s interesting.
I found her the weakest link of the ensemble (if you exclude the actors playing the players lol).I’m not sure if she’s good or not lol. She’s just doing The Most and I kinda love it. Not a hint of subtlety, camp to the extreme. It works for the show though for me.

If it can find the audience like Schitt’s Creek, I can actually see it getting Emmy noms.
ReplyJune 15, 2024 at 9:31 am #1205862845I just caught up on Clipped and kinda obsessed with Jacki Weaver here. Over-the-top and actressing to the nth degree, but so much fun! Need her to randomly happen like she did at the Oscars.

ReplyJune 11, 2024 at 7:22 pm #1205858662Eric seems to be hanging on solidly well on the Netflix charts. I wonder if there’s room for Benedict.
ReplyJune 10, 2024 at 9:54 am #1205856452I love The Curse, but nothing about it is safe for nominations. It is the most dangerous show of the year probably. It’s only strength has been the WGA nomination and how absolutely weak the field is. I’m just gonna go down with the ship and keep Series & Stone in 8th & 6th place respectively.
ReplyJune 10, 2024 at 9:39 am #1205856414Can’t wait to be very annoying pushing for a Ruth Negga nomination for a year!
ReplyJune 10, 2024 at 9:06 am #1205856302Wow, the comedy series nominations are flawless. 6 of my top 7 comedies of the season, only Righteous Gemstones missing.

ReplyJune 4, 2024 at 9:14 am #1205851285Clipped starts today and has a 71 on MC which isn’t bad! I could see a random Globes nomination for Laurence Fishburne or something.
ReplyJune 4, 2024 at 9:11 am #1205851283The Acolyte reviews seem to be all over the place. Some seem to love it and some find it a slog. After Obi-Wan got in and if Ahsoka happens, it’ll be hard to completely dismiss any Star Wars show though.
ReplyJune 4, 2024 at 7:49 am #1205851193Adrien Brody’s performance is much more than relevant: it is excellent and deserves the nomination even if the series is not in pole position.
I didn’t care for the last season of Winning Time, but Brody’s still my personal Drama Supporting Actor winner.

I said S2 was now or never for Selena, but now it really is. There’s two wide-open slots and we’ve finally seen industry strength from her. This is the first time since S1 I’m actually considering predicting her.
