Look's like it has been said a thousand times before... but if you write a positive review for a movie that you the left says you are not politically allowed to like, your review gets censored.

If you write a negative review about a movie that the left says you are politically not allowed to like, your review gets censored.

If you write a positive review about the original movie that was just "updated" in a political remake, your review gets censored.

They are more censor happy than Rotten Tomatoes.

Basically, at this point every review or score is suspect.

First the 600 character minimum. Then the 'woke' of the month epiphany. My last two reviews didn't make the cut even though they met IMDB's guidelines.

Couple this despicable practice with the new PAY WALL and IMDB has gone from great to sour. I find myself logging into Rotten Tomatoes' more and more and IMDB a lot less.

imdb removes bad reviews for anything owned by amazon and has become blatant censors, smirking the entire time.

The latest cash drop is the "rings of power" in which my negative review and hundreds of others disappeared from website. Metacritic holding a 1.8 rating; imdb is at a 7.

The idea of attacking reviewers is amazing; it's clearly our fault for not liking their terrible adaption of Tolkien; followed by name calling; ie: racists, review-bombers, trolls, etc...

First they changed reviews to 600 characters basically eliminating all but long winded reviews, much of it complaining about the 600 characters.

Funny thing is. -That- they mange but when it comes to the 100s of thousands of fake reviews, IMDB couldn't care less.

More hurtful is they are now putting most of the movie and TV details behind a pay wall. I was wondering how long it would take for that.

I used to love IMDB but now it is basically unusable. I now have a shortcut to Rotten tomatoes. Who still shows all details and allows shorter reviews for those of us who are not professional movie critics.

After recent events, I can't trust the site. Seeing with my own eyes how The Rings of Power rating and reviews are purposefully manipulated.

If so clearly, in front of the eyes of the whole world, they manipulate the evaluation and reviews of the mentioned, what else are they deceiving us about.

Unfortunately my trust in my once favorite site is gone.

I have a wrong reference and wanted to delete it. Surprisingly IMDb claim it’s so easy to edit my own data, especially because I added it myself. Now I’m being patronised by Amazon who refuses to remove the reference claiming that they assessed it to be factual, even though both the producer and I tried to undo it. Also as an eu citizen I asked to be forgotten in compliance with GDPR but now they give me the silence treatment. It’s a bad company with a terrible business moral. Also there are no human service desk.

IMDb is ludicrous. Any British series or film that’s produced, regardless of how well made, with a superb story line, always receives low star ratings, when in my mind and many others should be at least 9 or 10 stars.

Trust is in short supply these days. I want to know people’s experience and opinion of a movie or show, then make up my mind whether I want to invest my time and energy in watching them. IMDB has been repeatedly caught deleting negative reviews, particularly those that show their parent company Amazon’s pet projects in a negative light. Such covert actions smack of duplicity and corporate greed, removing any hope for trust in this platform.

I only used the "parents guide" part so far but am more than grateful for it. It's very easily to navigate and even though I'm not sure how to put it in words properly, so far it has really helped me with avoiding movies that would trigger me.

Honestly it is the worst customer service on any paying website. The responses are canned responses and you have to go back and forth several times to explain that what THEY ARE Saying Doesnt work. Hopefully you get someone that believes you or you are screwed. Also their response time is ridiculous. IMDb isnt cheap to have a Pro Subscription and they just TAKE THEIR TIME. If my agent and manager didnt want me to have this subscription I wouldnt give them a penny.

Amazon's entire market policy revolves are creating products and selling them in their own market place which they could curate, rate and market on their own.

The recent Rings of Power debacle brings this to light and shows how much control amazon can have to make their shows look better, they could very possibly do the same for their competitors. Deleting reviews, banning users from giving reviews under a certain score etc just shows why one shouldn't trust IMDb scores anymore.

What can I say - behind every unethical decision there is a team of execs that have no clue what they are doing nor how to tie their shoes in the morning. But somehow they are there, making bank and showcasing crappy results with the confidence of a Greek god. They are now deleting reviews that don’t favour their shows. No, just no.

What can I say? I used to like this website. But they were recently acquired by Amazon.

Legitimate reviews are totally purged, particularly negative ones in regards to Prime production.

The ratings and reviews have become completely worthless.

I wrote 2 legitimate and well structured reviews about two different films. Not only did I waste my time having to write 600 letters (new requirement), my reviews were later removed. Guess why? It had a below average rating for a Prime production.

Pathetic, yet unsurprising in the current world we live in. Companies and the media are actively defrauding the public.

IMDB used to be the place to go. The IMDB top 250 actually meant something.
Now all of that means nothing since IMDB is no longer a legitimate review site. Even several days after the Rings of Power came out there are still only 74 reviews and the minimum review is a 6.

Will you please tell the "EXPERT'S " on this show to pronounce NUCLEAR properly as that is the right word.
Please no more "NUCULAR". I love this program but how can you take it seriously with with stupid people saying the latter word.

IMDB declined my negative review of a show for reason "other". No inappropriate language was used and I made it clear that I watched 90% of the first season before giving up. Apparently, giving certain shows a negative review is not allowed. It is no longer a site that can be trusted, perhaps it never was.

They are deleting under 6 star reviews of shows that amazon owns. Nice confict of interest here ;).

You cant believe IMDB from now on, because they inflate their own shows way over reality.

I use IMDb to learn more about a specific movie or tv show. It is very useful at giving up to date information about them and gives you an option to edit the information if there are any wrong or missing ones.
